HARDY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Weather conditions have allowed for fires to quickly spread throughout Hardy County.
The widespread fires have caused fire crews to remain busy around the clock with help being called in from nearly two hours away.
The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) located in Preston County was called to assist Hardy County in fighting the fires around 6 PM Wednesday evening.
They said they worked through the night fighting brush fires within the county protecting structures and making fire lines.
According to the Aurora VFD, civilians are even pitching in and helping assist in controlling and putting out the fires.
The Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) also located in Preston County stated Thursday morning that they were sending a crew of four firemen to Hardy County.
According to Bruceton-Brandonville VFD, currently, 14 structures are on fire and countless others have burned in Hardy County.
Hardy County 911 stated last night that there was no official evacuation order for the county.
