FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman is in jail after she accused a man of threatening her girlfriend and began beating him and striking him with a metal table.
On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to an assault complaint at 125 Carter Avenue, Powellton. Deputy Sheriff R.T. Gunnoe was dispatched to the scene following a call from the Fayette County 911 Center.
Upon arrival, Deputy Gunnoe made contact with the victim and his wife, who had called to report the incident. According to the male victim, the altercation began when a woman identified only as “Sam” approached his residence, accusing him of threatening her girlfriend. The confrontation escalated into a physical attack, with “Sam” reportedly striking the man multiple times using a small metal table and other blunt objects.
The man stated that during the assault, he attempted to defend himself but fell onto his right shoulder. He also observed “Sam’s” girlfriend, identified as “Brandy,” standing outside his fence watching the incident unfold. Despite “Sam” calling for “Brandy” to assist, she did not intervene and remained outside the fence. After the attack, both women left the scene.
When the man’s wife returned home from running errands, she found her husband injured and covered in blood. She reported that her husband’s glasses had been broken during the assault. Shortly after she called 911, she claimed that “Sam” returned to the vicinity of their home and threatened her with physical violence.
Further investigation identified the two women as Samantha Tucker (“Sam”) and Brandi Tucker (“Brandy”). At the scene, Deputy Gunnoe observed bloodstains on the front porch and a broken metal table, which had blood on its surface. A broken wooden horse figurine was also found on the porch. The man displayed multiple injuries, including bruises, lacerations to his head, and complaints of pain in his right shoulder, arm, and leg.
The evidence established probable cause to issue a warrant for Samantha Tucker for Malicious Wounding under West Virginia State Code 61-2-9(a).
