WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County woman was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly threatening another individual and causing property damage, according to law enforcement officials.
At approximately 12:34 a.m. on March 23, 2025, Deputy Hunter Walker was dispatched to a disturbance in the Clear Fork area. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the victim, who reported that Rebecca Chanelle Johnson had confronted her aggressively, making her fear for her safety.
While Deputy M.T. Perry attempted to place Johnson in hand restraints, she reportedly resisted, distanced herself from the officer, and continued speaking incoherently. Johnson was then placed under arrest for Domestic Assault.
The victim provided a written statement detailing that Johnson had entered her yard earlier in the day, yelling and screaming before confronting her inside the home. The victim stated this was not the first such incident and that she feared Johnson would become violent if she did not call 911. Johnson then allegedly pulled a door off its hinges before returning to the yard and shouting at neighbors.
Deputies documented the damaged door, which was estimated to be worth $100. Johnson was subsequently charged with Domestic Assault and Destruction of Property before being transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
