LEWIS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A heated domestic dispute turned violent on May 18, 2025, when a woman allegedly threw a glass jar at her ex-husband’s face, causing serious injuries that may result in the loss of his eye.
Authorities responded to a call at a residence on Rush Run Road for an active domestic complaint. Upon arrival, the responding officer spoke with the suspect, identified as Betty Dawn Gould, who admitted to getting into an argument with her ex-husband before picking up a glass jar and throwing it at him.
The jar struck the victim in the face, causing significant lacerations. He was initially transported to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital but was later transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital due to the severity of the injuries and concerns that he may lose vision in one eye.
Gould was taken into custody and charged with malicious assault.
