BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Beckley police have arrested a woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on October 25.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Robert C. Byrd Drive after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found 72-year-old William Clark, who had sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived.
While no eyewitnesses were immediately identified, officers collected physical evidence and reviewed video footage from the surrounding area. This investigation led authorities to identify the vehicle and its driver.
On the morning of October 27, 46-year-old Sherri Willis of Beckley was taken into custody by Beckley Police Detectives.
She has been charged with the felony offense of leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Willis is currently being held at the Southern Regional Jail with bond set at $100,000.
