OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Nicholas County woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with indications of drug distribution activity.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred around 2:50 a.m. on June 3 when Cpl. J.M. Pauley of the Oak Hill Police Department observed a gold Chrysler sedan traveling well below the speed limit on U.S. Route 19 and drifting onto the white fog line.
Suspecting driver impairment, the officer initiated a traffic stop near Oyler Avenue.
The driver, identified as 56-year-old Camilla Ramsey, initially presented an ID card instead of a valid driver’s license.
Ramsey told officers she was coming from the hospital and heading to rehab.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered her license had been revoked due to three prior DUI offenses and two active medical suspensions, with one DUI dating back to 2017.
After questioning, Ramsey admitted to having illegal substances on her and handed over two bags—one containing suspected fentanyl and the other a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. She was then placed under arrest.
A K-9 unit was deployed around the vehicle and alerted officers to the driver’s side.
A subsequent search revealed multiple items of drug paraphernalia, including burnt foil and plastic straws commonly used for drug consumption.
Police later counted approximately 26 individually packaged pieces of foil containing what appeared to be fentanyl, leading investigators to believe the drugs were intended for distribution.
She is charged with driving revoked for DUI and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
She is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
