BUCKHANNON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Buckhannon woman has been arrested on arson charges following a fire at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Brittany Hope Hurst, 34, was taken into custody by investigators from the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office (WVSFMO) on two counts of second-degree arson.
The charges stem from an incident on October 11, when a fire was reported in a campus building at WV Wesleyan College.
Investigators determined that the fire had been set deliberately, originating from two separate garbage cans placed in different locations within the building.
Hurst is currently held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $500,000 bond.
