ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Elkins Walmart Shopping Center became the scene of a police investigation Monday when authorities were brought in to address a shoplifting customer.
According to reports from the Randolph Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, February 27, 2023, Chief Deputy B.T Sharp of the department responded to the Elkins Walmart in reference to a reported instance of shoplifting.
The suspect was identified as Susan Gibson and was alleged to have stolen $88.81 in merchandise from the Walmart location.
Throughout the course of the investigation, Gibson was also found to have been in possession of 15.27 grams of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine as well as a glass smoking apparatus commonly utilized in the consumption of illicit substances.
As a result of the investigation, Gibson was placed under arrest and faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Shoplifting. The case is pending in the Magistrate Court of Randolph County.
