BRUCETON MILLS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Pennsylvania woman is facing charges after authorities say a critically injured juvenile was found following an incident at a campground in Preston County.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers from the Kingwood Detachment responded Monday, July 13, to Big Bear Lake Camplands in Bruceton Mills after receiving a report that a suspect had carried an unresponsive juvenile to a vehicle before leaving the area.
The Pennsylvania State Police later intercepted the vehicle and found the juvenile, who appeared to have sustained severe physical injuries.
The juvenile was flown by medical helicopter to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Authorities identified the suspect as Lisa Lynn Miller, 60, of Dawson, Pennsylvania.
Miller has been charged in Pennsylvania with Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Endangering the Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian. Bail was denied.
Members of the West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Response Team assisted with the investigation.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
