FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A structure fire in the Gauley Bridge area has led to a felony arrest, according to Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen.
On March 24, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Fayette County 911 received a report of a structure fire.
Responding fire departments arrived to find the residence fully engulfed in flames. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. Authorities determined that the residence did not have power at the time the fire started.
During the investigation, deputies collected evidence and obtained surveillance footage showing individuals near the residence prior to the fire.
The footage reportedly showed one individual entering and exiting the structure shortly before smoke became visible.
Deputies were later able to positively identify the individual seen in the video.
Tiffany Stricker, 33, has been charged with the felony offense of first-degree arson.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
