FAIRLEA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Greenbrier County woman is under investigation after allegedly selling methamphetamine during a controlled drug buy, with two juvenile children reportedly present during the transaction.
The Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force conducted the investigation into Shirley Mary Czaplinski on November 12, 2024, targeting her for the distribution of controlled substances.
According to authorities, Sgt. Eggleston, a member of the task force, coordinated with a cooperating individual to facilitate the controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Czaplinski. The transaction occurred at her residence, located at 123 3rd Street, Apartment 6, in Fairlea.
During a debriefing, the cooperating individual informed Sgt. Eggleston that two juvenile children were present in the immediate vicinity of the drug sale. Czaplinski allegedly conducted the transaction in the children’s presence.
Following the controlled buy, the cooperating individual turned over a substantial quantity of methamphetamine obtained from Czaplinski.
Czaplinksi is charged with gross child neglect resulting in possible injury or death.
