OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was found deceased Tuesday afternoon following a 911 call reporting an injured female at a residence in Oak Hill, according to the Oak Hill Police Department.
Police said the call was received at approximately 1:29 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2026, for a report of an injured woman at 113½ Riner Avenue.
The call was initially answered by ambulance personnel, who subsequently requested law enforcement assistance.
When officers with the Oak Hill Police Department arrived at the scene, they located a deceased female inside the residence. Authorities have not released the identity of the woman or details surrounding the circumstances of her death.
The Oak Hill Police Department is leading the investigation into the cause of death, with assistance from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said the body will be transported to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for examination.
Police noted that no additional information is available for release at this time.
