DUNBAR, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman and four dogs were rescued from a flooded home Sunday afternoon after severe storms brought high water to parts of the Kanawha Valley.
The Dunbar Fire Department said crews were dispatched at approximately 4:42 p.m. for a report of water rushing into a residence.
When firefighters arrived, the home had approximately 18 inches of water inside.
Members of the department’s A Shift used the department’s new DIB rescue boat to reach the residence and safely remove the woman and four dogs.
The rescue came as heavy rainfall and storms caused flooding and other weather-related problems across parts of the Kanawha Valley on Sunday.
