FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman is behind bars after she allegedly threw an ashtray at her boyfriend, who was in a wheelchair, striking him in the face.
On September 1, 2024, at approximately 6:40 pm, Fayette County Deputy Sheriff T.L. Farley II received a call from the Fayette County 911 Center about a domestic altercation at 3857 Lochgelly Road in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
The caller reported that the victim was being assaulted by the defendant, Tracie A. Thomas, the victim’s girlfriend.
Upon arriving on the scene, the deputy had the defendant exit the residence and wait in his patrol car while I investigated. The victim, who uses a wheelchair, stated that the defendant had returned home after being out all night, and an argument ensued when he told her he no longer wanted her there. The victim claimed the defendant threw an ashtray, striking him in the face and causing redness and swelling around his left eye.
Based on my investigation, it was determined that the defendant, Tracie A. Thomas, resided with the victim and had unlawfully and intentionally made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature by striking him in the face with an ashtray.
