MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is behind bars after Trooper’s say he downloaded child porn onto his computer.
According to the West Virginia State Police, an FBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a Cybertip from Google, which indicated that a video had been uploaded to a Google account belonging to Lonnie Perkins of Montcalm, WV. The video was over 2 minutes long and showed an underage female child performing sexual acts.
When troopers questioned Perkins, he initially denied the account was his, but later stated it was his; however, he doesn’t have access to it because it was deactivated. Perkins later said he downloaded the video one night to his phone while drunk; it was a mistake, but he thought the content in his email was private.
Perkins is charged with possession of child porn. He is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a $50,000 bond.
