LOGAN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On the evening of June 13, 2024, around 6:30 pm, Officers J. Jude and A. Bias responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Dingess Street in Logan, West Virginia, as relayed through the Logan County 911 system.
Upon arrival, the officers made contact with a victim who stated that Amanda Carter had falsely called 911 to report an active domestic altercation. The officers attempted to make contact with the defendant, Carter, at the residence, but she had already left the scene. As the officers canvassed the area, they encountered Carter walking on Dingess Street and detected a strong odor of alcohol on her person.
During their interaction, Carter claimed the victim was a convicted felon in possession of firearms and was dangerous, repeatedly yelling, “Watch your back!” The officers then obtained verbal consent from the victim to search the residence but found no firearms present. The victim informed the officers she had called 911 multiple times that same day, alleging the defendant had been physically abusive.
The officers confirmed the victim’s account through the Logan County 911 dispatch. Carter was then transported to the Logan Police Department, where she became irate, requesting a cigarette. The defendant stated, “Call David Adkins that’s my father.” The Defendant then told the officer,” I love you, Chuck. You told me to come like this.” She was subsequently transferred to the Southwestern Regional Jail to await arraignment on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, false reporting of an emergency, and providing false information to an officer.
