CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) announced that registration is now open for its Becoming An Outdoors Woman (BOW) spring workshop, scheduled for April 4-6 at Pipestem Resort State Park.
BOW is a nationally recognized program that introduces women to various hunting, fishing and other outdoor-related activities in a welcoming and supportive environment. The WVDNR’s spring workshop, which will be at Pipestem Resort State Park for the first time, will offer participants the chance to learn new skills while enjoying the beauty of one of West Virginia’s premier state parks.
“This workshop is more than just a weekend getaway—it’s an opportunity for women to gain confidence, connect with nature and build a community with like-minded individuals,” said Emily McCabe, state coordinator for Becoming an Outdoors Woman. “Many participants walk away not just with new skills, but with a newfound passion for the outdoors and friendships that last well beyond the event.”
The spring workshop will feature hands-on instruction in a variety of outdoor activities, including archery, fly fishing, wild game cooking and stream ecology. Classes rotate each year, ensuring a fresh experience for returning participants. Women of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts, are encouraged to attend.
The workshop is limited to 75 participants, and spaces fill quickly. Registration is $225, which includes instruction, required equipment and meals. Lodging is available at an additional cost. Participants enrolling in a fishing class must purchase a fishing license and trout stamp and send a copy of their license with their registration and fees.
