MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University Police (UPD) issued a campus warning on Thursday, September 12, following a domestic violence incident that occurred on September 10 in the University Place parking garage on University Avenue.
The incident did not involve any WVU employees or students.
UPD officers were alerted to a disturbance in the garage on Tuesday and quickly responded to the scene.
Although both the suspect and victim left the area separately before police arrived, officers were able to identify a suspect through witness interviews and security camera footage.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Saquan TyQuil Moore, who is not affiliated with the university.
Moore is now banned from all WVU property, and officers are actively searching for him.
Anyone with information about the incident or Moore’s whereabouts is urged to contact University Police at 304-293-2677 or visit their office at 992 Elmer Prince Drive. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
WVU Police Chief Sherry St. Clair thanked those who reported the incident, emphasizing the importance of the community’s vigilance.
“We tell the WVU community that if they see something, say something, and this is a direct result of that,” she said.
