MT. HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The line stretched far outside the confines of RetroReset Video Games and Collectibles Saturday afternoon when WWE Hall of Famer and Republican Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, Glen Jacobs – better known in the wrestling world as Kane – visited Raleigh County for a special appearance.
The latest superstar to appear at the establishment’s Crossroads Mall location, the former champion greeted fans numbering in the hundreds over the weekend, exchanging stories, signing autographs, and posing for photos in the iconic mask long donned by his legendary in-ring character.
Billed at 7’0” and 323 lbs, Kane would become regarded as one of the most dominant forces in the WWE immediately upon the character’s 1997 debut at Badd Blood: In Your House. The proper introduction of the Kane character saw Jacobs interfere in the first ever Hell-In-Cell match, incapacitating his kayfabe half-brother The Undertaker, who himself had been established as a nearly unbeatable figure through his own character mythology.
Throughout his professional wrestling career, Jacobs has been a three-time world champion, two-time Intercontinental champion, 12-time tag team champion, Money in the Bank winner, 24/7 champion, and Grand Slam winner.
Along with an extensive run as a singles superstar, Kane is also known for his involvement in several successful tag teams with superstars including X-Pac, Rob Van Dam, Daniel Bryan, The Big Show, and The Undertaker.
In 2018 Jacobs became the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. He announced his intention to seek re-election in 2021, and defeated Democratic opponent Debbie Helsley in the 2022 general election.
