WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at approximately 4 p.m., the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department responded to a complaint of an individual shooting a firearm near residences in the North Springs area of Wyoming County.
Upon arriving at the residence, Curtis Dale Lester Jr. fired additional shots in the presence of the deputies before returning inside.
Deputies attempted to talk Mr. Lester Jr. into coming out peacefully, and Mr. Lester refused to do so. This continued for approximately 4 hours, during which time the West Virginia State Police arrived and assisted. A search warrant and arrest warrants were obtained, and ultimately, entry was made into the residence at approximately 8 p.m.
Mr. Curtis Dale Lester Jr. was detained and arrested without incident. Mr. Curtis Lester was charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a residence, wanton endangerment, and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 25,000 cash-only bond.
