MULLENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man has been arrested after standing at the gas pumps of Wayne’s Market in Mullens cussing and shouting obscenities while intoxicated.
On Saturday, February 25, police received a call about a disturbance at Wayne’s Supermarket. While en route to the call, dispatch advised responding officers that they couldn’t give further details because they were still on the phone.
Upon arriving on the scene police observed William Mckinney, who was accused of standing by the gas pumps cussing and shouting obscenities, standing with another individual.
The two subjects had seemed to be in a heated argument prior to police arrival. Mckinney also had a strong smell of alcohol about him and seemed to be slurring his speech. Mckinney was showing obvious signs of intoxication.
After separating the subjects, police began gathering statements. While police were speaking with the attendant of the gas station she stated that Mckinney was asking for money in the parking lot. The attendant then went outside and asked Mckinney to leave.
Mckinney then started cussing, screaming, and refusing to leave. The attendants then went out to ask the other individual to leave and he began cussing and refusing to leave with him as well.
Police then placed Mckinney under arrest and transported him to Mullens Police Department for processing. During a search, police located a half drank pint of vodka in the subject’s pocket.
Mckinney is being charged with Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Intoxication.
