WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man has been charged with felony possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) following a forensic investigation of his mobile device.
According to a criminal complaint filed by law enforcement, Russell Lee Hearn was found in possession of 35 images of CSAM, which is below the 50-image threshold that classifies the charge as a single felony count.

The investigation began after a forensic analysis conducted by Captain Blankenship on June 13, 2025, uncovered a suspected illegal image during a court-ordered search of a mobile device.
The case was then turned over to an officer with the Crimes Against Children unit for further investigation.
On July 28, 2025, investigators obtained an independent search warrant specifically for Hearn’s Apple iPhone 11.
A forensic examination of the phone reportedly revealed 35 images depicting child pornography.
Hearn now faces one count of felony possession of CSAM.
