BUD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Justin L. Tolliver, 20, of Bud, pleaded guilty on January 15, 2025, to Sexual Assault in the Third Degree.
The case originated on May 20, 2024, when Sergeant Tyler Sizemore of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department launched a criminal investigation following reports that a juvenile had been sexually abused by Tolliver.
A forensic interview conducted by Stop the Hurt, Inc. and a witness statement supported the allegation.
“Sexual abuse is a crime we take very seriously in Wyoming County,” said Wyoming County Prosecutor Gregory Bishop. “We have no tolerance for sexual abuse, and offenders will be vigorously prosecuted.”
Wyoming County Assistant Prosecutor Derek Laxton led the case before Circuit Judge Josh Miller.
Bishop expressed appreciation for Laxton, the prosecutorial team, Sergeant Sizemore, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, and Stop the Hurt, Inc. for their efforts in the case.
Tolliver is scheduled for sentencing in February 2025.
Sexual Assault in the Third Degree carries a sentence of one to five years in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
He may also face up to 50 years of Extended-Release Supervision.
