WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) — The Wheeling Police Department is investigating two separate injury related crimes that occurred on Sunday, March 18, 2024.
According to the Wheeling Police Department, on Sunday at approximately 6p.m., a man reported to the Emergency Room with a gunshot wound. When police questioned the man, he claimed he was struck in the head and then suffered a gun-shot wound in his shoulder area. Police were unable to confirm the location of the incident and further information provided by the man. The injured man was treated for his wound and is expected to make a full recovery.
At approximately 6:55p.m. another call was received and Wheeling Police were dispatched to Lane 13 in East Wheeling for an alleged stabbing. The male victim stated another male ambushed him from an abandoned house and stabbed him. The victim reported the man who stabbed him was a white male who left on a bicycle and headed toward US 250. The victim’s injuries were treated at Wheeling Hospital.
The Wheeling Police Department was unable to confirm the locations of these crimes as well as the identity of the offenders.
