UPDATE: MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man who was found guilty of first-degree robbery is sentenced to prison.
Nathanial Burroughs was sentenced to 45 years in prison on Thursday, September 16th by Judge Swope.
Burroughs robbed the Dollar General in Green Valley back in November 2020.

MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)– Earlier today, the court found Nathaniel Burroughs guilty of first-degree robbery and assault during the commission of a felony.
Burroughs robbed the Dollar General in Green Valley back in November 2020. Forensic evidence was tested and connected back to Burroughs during the investigation, which led to his arrest. After Burroughs waived a jury trial, a bench trial began. One key witness who testified today was a worker that was assaulted during the robbery.
Defense attorneys for Burroughs were JJ McPherson and Joseph Harvey. This judge, in this case, was Judge Derek Swope, the prosecutor was Brian Cochran, and assistant prosecutor Adam Wolfe.
Confirmed by Wolfe, Burroughs was found guilty this afternoon. Sentencing is scheduled for September 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Burroughs could face two to ten years for assault during the commission of a felony and ten years to life for the first-degree robbery.
