Dewey Franklin Meador Jr., 80, of Cool Ridge, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2021 following a long illness.
Dewey was born in Flat Top, WV on January 15, 1941 to the late Dewey Franklin Meador Sr. and Eda Lilly Meador.
Dewey was an Army veteran; he loved all sports, especially football and basketball, but most importantly spending time with his loving family.
He worked for the United States Postal Service in Alexandria, VA for over 20 years, after retirement he moved back home to West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nile Farley, Jack Farley, and Edward Farley; and sisters, JoAnn Moye, Betty Almond, Louise Young, Eula Meador, Linda McAteer, and Iris Keith.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of almost 61 years, Elva May Sanger Meador; a brother, Jimmy Kiser; and his aunts and extended family.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1PM with Pastor Roland Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
