FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Commission heard budget presentations from Community Corrections Director Teresa Gregory and Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti.
Among the issues discussed were savings on the jail bill, increases in Day Report Center revenue, and the possibility of opening a branch in Montgomery.
The FCC agreed to loan four electronic voting machines to the City of Oak Hill for its upcoming municipal election. Oak Hill asked that the Commission approve having future elections with the County elections as a cost-saving measure. The Commission will decide that in its meeting on March 1st.
A bid opening was held for a new pool for Fayette County Park.  One bid was received from Dan Hill Construction $2,899.00 for a new pool, $791,000 for a splash pad, and $949,000 for the equipment room.  The Commission will publish a new request asking for alternative proposals building around the existing pool, rather than complete demolition & rebuild. The Summit Bechtel Reserve is also willing to donate a portable Olympic-sized portable pool to the Park and will explore the feasibility of this with the Park Director & Park Board.
A Public Hearing was held for the BSA Bond amendment. The Commission elected to table a vote on the accompanying resolution until a later date.
