RONCERVERTE, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Ronceverte elected its new mayor this evening following a 13-hour voting period held at City Hall. Three council seats were voted on in addition to the mayoral slot.
Eric Mercer, Barbara Morgan, Deena Pack and Mark Mengel ran for mayor while current Mayor David Smith decided not to run for re-election.
Others running for office included Leah Sills and Richard Beasley for the city council four-year term and Aaron Ransom, Tanya Hazelwood and Kathy King for the city council two-year term.
According to Senator Stephen Baldwin, D-Greenbrier, more than two hundred ballots were cast on Tuesday.
After tabulating the results, the City of Ronceverte announced that the Deena Pack has been elected mayor. Leah Sills and Kathy King will be returning to the city council for four-year terms, and Tanya Hazelwood will be joining Council for a two-year term.
