BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Bluefield State University will be holding its “A Childhood Needs Awareness Symposium” event next month at which several distinguished speakers will be hosted.
The event, presented by Bluefield State’s Health Promotion class, will be held at the Brown-Gilbert Basic Science Auditorium and will explore a variety of topics including foster advocacy, child abuse and protection programs, mandate reporting, and counseling.
Speakers scheduled to appear at the symposium include Osborne & Associates PLLC owner and managing attorney Raeann Osborne, Child Protect of Mercer County, Inc. Child Advocacy Center Program Director Beth Boyd Sizemore, and Certified Trauma Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, Dr. Nola Gum, LICSW.
The “A Childhood Needs Awareness Symposium” will be a free event and will be open to attendance from members of the public. The event will take place on Monday, September 18, 2023, and will run from 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
