Alvin Harold “Butch” Brown, 71, of Princeton passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born September 22, 1952, in Oakvale, WV he was the son of the late Emmett Harold Brown and Ama Elizabeth Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonya Meadows; and five sisters, Pamela Rotenberry, Mildred St. Clair, Linda Blankenship, Lora Sowers, and Nora Belcher.
Butch was a truck driver for Jennelle’s Elite Paving and attended Living Waters Baptist Church in Beckley. He was a 15-year member of Brothers of the Wheel, loved traveling to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and restoring old vehicles.
Butch is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sherrie Lynn Brown of Princeton, two sons, Jason Brown of Princeton, and Alvin Brown, Jr. of Princeton; three grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, and Kyle; two great-grandchildren, Tavish, and Alexandra; one sister, Kathy Brown of Princeton; two brothers, Wesley Brown of Princeton, and Mike Brown of Princeton; several nieces and nephews; including special niece, Chloe Alden of Meadow Creek; and his father and mother in law, Earl and Linda Roberts of Meadow Creek.
A funeral service to celebrate Butch’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Mike Gunnoe officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service hour on Wednesday. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
