BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – According to Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Hatfield, Rashad Brown, a teen wanted in connection to the shooting and death of Dwayne Richardson, turned himself in to police around 10 a.m. Monday morning.
Last Friday, police announced that they had issued warrants for Brown and Michael Webb for accessory after the fact to voluntary manslaughter, stating that they had both given misleading information to police, thereby helping Jeriamyah Fortner avoid responsibility. Fortner, who allegedly shot and killed Richardson on May 2, 2021, was arrested in the case.
Webb was taken into custody in Onslow County, North Carolina, on May 11, 2021. At the time of Webb’s arrest, police said he would be extradited back to Raleigh Couty; however, Hatfield says Webb is refusing to willingly return to the state. Police are currently working to get a Governor’s warrant to complete the extradition process.
After turning himself in, Brown was arrested and arraigned in court. He was later released on a $45,000 bond which Hatfield says his family was able to post.
