WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man is facing serious criminal allegations following a domestic incident that escalated into a sexual assault investigation, according to West Virginia State Police.
On the afternoon of Thursday, April 24, a trooper with the West Virginia State Police responded to a call from Wyoming County 911 regarding a domestic dispute and sexual assault report in Bud, WV. Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office had already arrived at the scene and arrested a man for domestic assault after a reported verbal altercation.
Shortly after, a female witness at the scene made disturbing allegations, claiming the man had inappropriately touched her while asking questions about sex. She also said he gave her three unidentified pills, threatening that she would die if she didn’t take them. A second girl at the scene told the responding trooper that she, too, had been touched inappropriately and was given unknown pills. The trooper noted that both girls appeared hesitant and withdrawn during the interviews.
The accused was advised of his Miranda rights, and his cellphone was seized as evidence. He declined to answer questions without legal counsel.
Further investigation continued the following week. On Monday, May 5, a forensic interview was conducted at the Stop the Hurt Center in Pineville, where one of the victims provided a detailed account of alleged sexual abuse. She said the man had invited her to his room, touched her inappropriately under her clothes, and asked if it “felt good.” Interviewers noted that the child appeared visibly uncomfortable, avoiding eye contact and speaking softly.
Another child interviewed at the center confirmed the accused had never touched her but had asked if she knew what sex was, a conversation that reportedly led to a confrontation between family members and the man’s arrest on April 24.
State Police have requested that, based on probable cause, a warrant be issued for the man’s arrest on one count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree. All incidents are said to have occurred in Wyoming County, West Virginia.
The investigation is ongoing.
