CHARLESTON – “Attorney General Patrick Morrisey today announced that he has raised over $1.1 million since announcing his campaign for Governor on April 4, a number over $800,000 higher than his perceived nearest competitor in the race.
Morrisey’s fundraising has already shattered high expectations, including:
- Acquiring over 7,200 unique donors
- 89% of such donors giving $100 or less, meaning that Morrisey has a tremendous opportunity to continue adding small dollar contributions to his campaign before the election
- Raising approximately $289,000 in West Virginia monies alone this quarter
- Maintaining over $1.325M in available funds, which can be expended on the 2024 primary (includes $301K from Morrisey 2020)
“West Virginians know that I am the only proven conservative with a record of getting big things done for our state,” said Morrisey. “While I’m pleased with our campaign’s strong fundraising numbers, the most important point is that I have consistently delivered for the people of West Virginia, and I will continue to do so as Governor.”
From fighting the drug menace to defending our state’s school choice laws, to zealously taking on federal overreach and protecting our energy jobs, to upholding our gun rights, and advancing the sanctity of life, no other candidate in this race can touch Morrisey’s record.
Morrisey’s strong fundraising numbers demonstrate that support for his candidacy continues to grow, with aggressive grassroots momentum taking place all across the state and at the national levels with recent endorsements from Citizens United Political Victory Fund and Veterans For America First. Morrisey is building out a strong grassroots donor network due to his unmatched conservative bona fides.
