Barbara Jean Cyrus, a beloved daughter, sister, stepmother, and friend to many, passed away on March 18th, 2024 in Monroe County, West Virginia. She was born on November 2nd, 1950 in the picturesque town of South Charleston. Her passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew her.
Barbara’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and friends. She leaves behind cherished memories with her brothers, Jack and Robert Hodges as well as two stepchildren, Ryan and Phillip Cyrus. Barbara’s presence brought warmth and joy to their lives that will be deeply missed.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Barbara will remember her for her passion for cooking delicious meals that brought people together. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful gardens she tended with care and dedication. The great outdoors held a special place in Barbara’s heart; she found solace and peace amidst nature’s beauty.
In addition to being a loving family member and friend, Barbara touched the lives of many others through her kindness and generosity. Her compassion knew no bounds as she selflessly offered support to those around her.
The loss of Barbara Jean Cyrus is felt profoundly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. While our hearts ache at this sudden departure from our lives, we find comfort in holding onto precious memories that will forever remain etched in our minds.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Barbara’s life among those closest to her.
