BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An employee at GoMart in Beckley is in jail after allegedly embezzling money.
According to State Police, on September 9, 2020, troopers responded to the GoMart located on Harper Road in Beckley. For an embezzlement complaint. Upon arriving, the store manager stated that Charles Brandon Ohara, an employee, was fraudulently completing transactions while operating the register. Ohara was allegedly ringing up items that the customers were placing on the counter, and when the customers would pay with cash, Ohara would void items off of the transaction to keep the cash for himself.
Ohara had been employed at the GoMart for a year. The store manager was able to obtain transactions from March 23, 2020, through September 3, 2020, in which Ohara committed the acts on numerous occasions. Ohara was able to profit $2,059.13.
Video footage was used to catch the employee stealing.
Ohara is charged with embezzlement and fraudulent schemes. He is currently out on bond.
