BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man is in jail after he smacked her, threatened to punch her, and drown her.
According to State Police, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at around 8:45 pm, a domestic call came in at Calloway Heights in Raleigh County. When troopers arrived, the victim stated that her boyfriend, Carlos Leftwich, had smacked her in the face twice and threatened to punch her. She also stated that Leftwich grabbed her hair and attempted to push her head into the bathtub and drown her.
The victim told police that her infant daughter was in the bathroom with Leftwich, and he was sending messages to her that said, “let the tub fill up,” and drown the infant child. When troopers asked to see the messages, they had been deleted by the suspect.
When troopers asked Leftwich, he denied it but then uttered, “oh.” The grandma of the victim witnessed the events.
Leftwich is charged with domestic assault, domestic battery, and malicious assault. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 1,500 dollar bond.
