BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man has been indicted by a Grand Jury for his role in the extended neglect and abuse of an incapacitated elderly man who had been under his care for years.
Bobby McKinney was charged with the abuse and neglect of an incapacitated adult after officers with the Beckley Police Department were called to a home for a welfare check.
The victim was discovered covered in feces and filth, stating that he hadn’t been permitted to bathe or shower in weeks. The victim was admitted for evaluation and medical treatment due to malnutrition, electrolyte imbalance, renal failure, and an array of wounds relating to general lack of basic care.
These included the partial embedding of the victim’s socks into his skin due to the discharge of bodily fluids from his feet and legs. Additionally, the victim’s clothes and bedding had gone unchanged for an extensive period.
