WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Retired Wyoming County teacher and administrator, Robin Hall announced this week her intentions to seek a seat on the Wyoming County Board of Education in the upcoming election.
For nearly four decades, Hall’s passion for helping students to overcome challenges and to succeed has been on full display. Her extensive career comprises time spent teaching at several schools in the Wyoming County area, including eight years at Herdon High School, five years at Mullens High School, one year at Pineville High School, and one year at Wyoming East High School.
Hall would also serve as assistant principal for three years at Baileysville High School and eleven years at Westside High School. She would become the principal at Westside High School for two years before being appointed Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools in 2015, a role in which she would serve for over half a decade before retiring in 2021. Hall would also serve as interim principal at Westside High School during the 2021-2022 school term.
As far as her own educational background, Hall holds multiple Master’s Degrees, including a Master’s Degree in Communication from West Virginia University and a Master’s Degree in Leadership Studies from Marshall University. This experience is augmented by hundreds of hours in professional development covering various topics pertaining to education.
With regard to her motivations in the field of education, Hall says that one Mark Twain quote is particularly applicable.
“The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why,” the quote reads. “I found ‘my why’ years ago,” she says. “Helping students as best I could was ‘my why.'”
The driving message behind the campaign is characteristically to-the-point: “Always kids first. Period!”
“I spent 38 years helping our school system to help employees to help kids in every way possible,” said Hall in her announcement. “I am proud of my years of service to the employees and students of Wyoming County Schools. I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve them again as a member of the Wyoming County Board of Education.”
