BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly threatening to cut his cousin’s throat during a domestic dispute.
According to the West Virginia State Police, Trooper R.T. Frye responded to a reported domestic altercation at a residence on Six Mile Creek Road near Danville at approximately 7:14 p.m. on June 11.
When the trooper arrived, he made contact with Eric Federico, who was standing in the roadway with a large knife in a sheath attached to his pants.
The trooper then spoke with the victim, identified as Ralph Estep, who told police that Federico is his cousin. Estep said the dispute began because Federico was upset about not having water available.
According to the complaint, Federico approached Estep’s residence and began a verbal confrontation. During the argument, Federico allegedly threatened Estep by saying, “I will cut your throat,” while in possession of the knife.
Police said the threat caused Estep to fear for his safety and well-being.
Following the investigation, Trooper Frye placed Federico under arrest at the scene.
Federico was transported to Southwestern Regional Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
