BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – CASA of New River invites the community to an afternoon of celebration, compassion, and impact at Bet on a Child’s Future, a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser to be held on May 2 at 1 p.m. at the Historic Black Knight.
This signature event will bring together community leaders, businesses, and supporters for a festive gathering that will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, Derby-inspired entertainment, a silent auction, and opportunities to support children in Raleigh County who have experienced abuse and neglect.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of New River trains and supports volunteers who serve as a consistent voice for children navigating the foster care and court systems. Proceeds from the event will provide critical unrestricted funding to help the organization continue to recruit, train, and support advocates for vulnerable children in Raleigh County.
“We are excited to bring the community together for an event that is both meaningful and memorable,” said Kristi Dumas, PsychD, Chief Executive Officer. “While the Derby theme adds a fun and engaging atmosphere, the heart of this event is ensuring that every child we serve has someone standing beside them when it matters most.”
Guests are encouraged to embrace the Derby spirit with festive attire, including hats and spring fashion, while enjoying an afternoon of music, mingling, and philanthropy.
The event will also feature the Run for the Roses Silent Auction, showcasing a curated collection of experiences, local goods, and unique packages, as well as the Winner’s Circle door prizes and a special giving experience, Bet on a Child’s Future, where attendees can make a direct impact.
Tickets are $75 per person, and sponsorship opportunities are currently available for businesses and individuals who wish to support the mission while gaining visibility among community leaders.
“Events like this are vital to sustaining our work,” said Dr. Kristi Dumas. “Every dollar raised helps us provide trained advocates who ensure that children in difficult circumstances are seen, heard, and supported.”
Space is limited, and early reservations are encouraged.
