HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Cabell County Solid Waste Authority has announced two upcoming specialty recycling/collection events in May and June.
E-waste
The first event is set for the Saturday, May 20, from 8 AM until noon at the Virginia Avenue Recycling Yard in Huntington. This event will be to collect electronic waste and a key fob will not be required to participate in this event. The following items will be accepted for recycling:
- AC adapters
- Portable air conditioners
- Rechargeable Batteries
- Cell phones
- Computers
- Laptop computers
- Laptops parts and components
- Docking stations
- Electrical components
- Electrical motors
- Cameras (film or digital)
- Fans
- Electrical heaters
- Gaming consoles
- Household electronics
- Ink and toner cartridges
- Keyboards
- Mice
- LCD monitors
- Light ballasts
- Medical equipment
- Microwaves
- Shredders
- Small household appliances
- Software
- Stereo and video equipment
- Landline telephones
- Televisions (WV Residents only, limit 2 CRT Televisions/household)
- Transformers
- Two-way communication equipment
- Battery backups
- Wi-Fi equipment
Pesticide
On Saturday, June 17, the CCSWA will hold the second event. This program will be in conjunction with the West Virginia Department of Agriculture and will collect unused pesticides from West Virginia residents.
The program is primarily for WV residents and commercial entities attempting to dispose of large amounts of pesticide may be refused.
