The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, Bodyworks and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.
Below are the candidates for the fourth week of the prep baseball season. Voting will close Friday, April 21 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.
If the the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

- Hayden Jones, Princeton -Jones batted .462 during a 3-2 week for the Tigers, notching six hits and picking up a win in the circle.
- Emma Simpson, Wyoming East – Simpson batted .375, driving in a trio of runs last week for Wyoming East.
- Josi Ervin, Greenbrier East – Ervin went a perfect 2-0 in the circle, allowing just one run that was unearned. She also batted .308 at the plate.
- Josie Hartshorn, Liberty – Hartshorn batted .636 with seven hits and five RBIs for the Raiders who went 2-1 last week.
- Aubrey Smallwood, Beckley – Smallwood was her usual self, going 2-0 in the circle with a 1.50 ERA. She also batted .500 with a pair of RBIs in a 2-1 week for the Flying Eagles.
- Julia Herndon, Greenbrier West – Herndon notched six hits, batting .857 last week with a pair of home runs as the Cavs went 2-0.
- Delaney Buckland, Independence – Buckland tossed a perfect game during the Patriots’ week in Myrtle Beach, striking out 13 batters in a 4-0 win over St. Jospeh Academy, OH.
