PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Princeton plans to celebrate the holidays with several planned seasonal events.
The first two will take place on December 1st and include Letter writing to Santa and Singing in the Square with Elvis at Dick Copeland Town Square. The letter writing will start at 4:30pm and continue for an hour. There will be writing stations set up for kids, 12 and under, to write their personalized letter to Santa to be put in a special mailbox to be read by Santa Claus during the Christmas Parade the following day. Singing in the Square with Elvis will start at 6pm and will last for approximately two hours. This event will feature Classic Christmas Elvis songs put on by Lee Dean. Hot Chocolate, Coffee, and other hot beverages will be provided during both events on-site by Wild Roots Coffeehouse.
The Princeton Christmas Parade will take place on December 2nd and will start at 7pm. The parade route will begin at the corner of Mercer Street and 5th Street and will run the Mercer Mile to the Mercer County Courthouse. Parades floats, marching units, and horses will line up in the historic district and will be required to line up by way of 2nd Street. Antique cars will meet at Bluestone Health Center and Jeeps at Grants Supermarket on Athens Road. Antique cars and jeeps will lead the parade with one pass through the parade route then the parade floats, marching units, and horses will follow. Several free hot chocolate stations will be positioned along the parade route for residents and the community to enjoy. The events of the parade will be live streamed on the City of Princeton’s Facebook Page by Llynium Entertainment. Concord University, Princeton Health Care, Starry Eyes Media, West Virginia Recycling, Conn-Weld Industries, Bluestone Health Care, Lanford Signs and Ramey of Princeton are this year’s Christmas Parade sponsors.
Make it Sparkle, Princeton is also taking place for the second time this year. The contest encourages Princeton business owners to decorate their establishment in holiday décor and register to be judged for cash prizes up to $250. Registration started for this event on November 15th and ends December 15th with judging taking place on December 22nd.
