CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Severe weather is possible today into Thursday with heavy wind gusts, large hail, and tornadoes being among the potential threats.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a lull in shower activity can be expected later this morning into the early afternoon, however, additional rounds of storms are expected late this evening and tonight.
The NWS says that these storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a few tornadoes. Heavy downpours can also be expected with these storms and may create localized flash flooding into Thursday morning.
The rest of the week and the weekend will remain unsettled, leading to the daily chance for showers and storms.
However, any thunderstorms through the weekend will be mainly diurnal in nature and far less impactful.
