ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Concord University Music Program will present the 2nd Annual Alumni & Friends Concert on Saturday, April 27 at 3 PM in the Anderson Family Theatre of the Alexander Fine Arts Center.
Alumni, high school students and local band directors are invited to perform alongside our current Mountain Lion band members. Visit concord.edu/alumni-band to register, view the rehearsal schedule, and request the music.
The concert will feature euphonium soloist, Dr. Jay Crone, Professor of Music at Virginia Tech, performing on “Tres Fados para Bombardon e Banda”, composed by Jim Sochinski. Dr. Crone joined the Virginia Tech faculty in 1994.
He has performed with many symphony orchestras and bands throughout the United States, including the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra.
He is currently the Principal Trombone of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, Opera Roanoke, and the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra. He also performs with the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Orchestra in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
