FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boomer couple is facing child neglect allegations.
According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, on Saturday evening, the Fayette County 911 Center recieved notification from a person who rescued a two-year-old child, that was walking down the middle of US Route 60 in Boomer, from being struck by vehicles.
A Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene and notified CPS workers to respond. After a door to door search the mother of the child was located. The mother was unaware the child was missing and allegedly did not display much concern.
The father was spotted between houses nearby and contact was eventually made with him on a front porch. He too showed little concern that child was missing and even tried to dismiss the situation as no big deal. The home was in poor condition with drug paraphernalia around.
Stephen C. Coiner and Tiffany D. Angel were arrested and charged with Child Neglect Creating Risk of Serious Injury/Death.
They will now await court proceedings.
