BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – A disc golf course is coming to Beckley’s New River Park thanks to a partnership between Mountaineer Discs and the City of Beckley.
According to Nathan Kessler, CEO of Mountaineer Discs, a West Virginian disc golf supply store, the preparation phase of getting the course at the park is already underway. This phase includes gaining funding for the project.
“We are super excited about this opportunity and want to have as many of the local businesses involved as possible,” Kessler stated. “…we are eager to make it happen!”
Kessler believes the New River Park disc golf course, situated in prime disc golf country, is the next step in making Beckley, the New River Gorge and the State of West Virginia a tourism hotspot.
“As more courses go in, our community will garner more interest from the rapidly growing disc golf community. The potential for the sport of disc golf in this area cannot be overstated,” he said.
