BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On November 6, 2024, a domestic violence incident in Bluefield, West Virginia, led to the arrest of 32-year-old Devin Greene. Patrolman T.M. Beggs responded to a call at 708 Wheeling Avenue, where he found a female victim visibly injured and in distress. The victim, who was struggling to stand and experiencing nausea, had visible injuries, including a fresh black eye, multiple lumps on her head, and blood on her shirt.
She reported that an argument had escalated when Mr. Greene allegedly punched her while she was holding their son and then strangled her from behind. The victim stated she managed to break free and grabbed a knife in self-defense, resulting in a cut to Mr. Greene’s hand during the altercation.
EMS arrived on the scene due to her injuries and the potential for a concussion. Meanwhile, police located Mr. Greene a short distance from the residence and took him into custody. Authorities reported that he was uncooperative and showed signs of intoxication, resulting in his placement in solitary confinement after reportedly making suicidal statements.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, while her mother stayed with the three children who were present during the incident. Mr. Greene faces charges, including Domestic Battery, Strangulation, and Child Neglect.
