Born on May 15, 1933 at Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Lizzie Wheeler Smith.
Mrs. Atha was co-owner of Oak Hill Glass. She enjoyed antiques and had an antique shop in the 1990’s. She loved her three kitties and was an avid reader.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Atha; and her son, Jeffrey Dean Atha.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories include three sons and their wives, Robert Lee (Myra) Atha of Ansted, Donald Edward (Jennifer) Atha of Fayetteville, and Christopher Blane (Sandy) Atha of Oak Hill; one daughter, Victoria (Perry) Dacal of Beaver; daughter-in-law, Natalie Atha; 14 grandchildren, Robert Atha III, Tovah Atha, Kendyl (John) Taylor, Zach (Jen) Atha, Jared Atha, Gabriel Atha, Sam Atha, Matt Atha, J.T. Atha, Devin (Amy) Atha, Jeffrey (Tarsia) Atha II, Kristen Atha, Tabitha (Tim) Quirk and Perfecto Dacal; 17 great-grandchildren along with 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2024 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until time of services.
