Douglas Michael “Mike” Robinette, 56, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born November 11, 1966, in Bloomfield, NJ, he was the son of Geraldine Burton Casario of Bluefield, WV, and the late Pastor Douglas MacArthur Robinette.
Mike was a 1985 graduate of Princeton Senior High School. He had formerly worked as a stock clerk at Grant’s Supermarket in Green Valley and last worked in housekeeping at Princeton Community Hospital. He loved sports and watching Sports Center on ESPN. He was an avid fan of both the Pittsburg Steelers and the WVU Mountaineers.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gussie and Emma Burton; paternal grandparents, John Robinette and Vera Robinette Sanford; stepfather, Carl Casario; stepbrother, Joseph Dye; and step-nephew, Michael Dye.
He is survived by his mother, with whom he made his home, Geraldine Casario; one son, Heath Robinette of Bluefield, WV; one grandson, Toby Robinette; one brother, Steve Robinette and wife Stacy of Madison, WV; stepmother, Mary Robinette of Lerona; stepsister, Sandy Whittaker and husband Rick of Lerona; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family is extremely grateful to our extended family and friends for their love and support throughout Mike’s illness.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, he has been cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with his brother, Reverend Steve Robinette and Pastor Chris Roberts officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Saturday. Those attending are asked to wear their favorite sports attire to honor Mike.
